A BLOG FROM
Team Märtens
A double dose of reinforcements

We welcome two new colleagues!

Hand hält Weltkugel, auf der Ort imaginär durch Fluglinien verbunden sind
Märtens and our affiliate CSS Belts in Lahnstein have two new members of staff: Bernhard Eckhardt is our new Area Sales Manager for Central and Eastern Europe, and Jörg Lenz is joining CSS Belts as Production Manager. In this post, we’d like to introduce them both.

For the past few weeks, Jörg Lenz has been bringing his extensive expertise to bear in his role as Production Manager at CSS in Lahnstein. He has over 20 years’ experience in production, manufacturing and engineering, having spent more than 15 of those years in management roles. He has gained particular insight from transformation and restructuring projects, during which he and his teams have successfully achieved sustainable improvements in productivity, quality and efficiency.

He knew early on that he wanted to work in the manufacturing sector: “I’m passionate about making tangible improvements to processes, ensuring results are measurable, and working with people to achieve visible progress. What particularly appeals to me about the role of Production Manager and Site Manager is the opportunity to develop a site holistically – both operationally and structurally.”

Being where value is created

As Production Manager, Jörg Lenz is responsible for the operational management and further development of the entire production process at the site. “It’s important to me to be close to the processes and the team – because the best solutions emerge where value is created.”

Jörg spends his free time going for long walks with his dog. Incidentally, his four-legged friend comes to work with him every day – and reliably keeps the team in good spirits.

Bernhard Eckhardt – a linguistic talent and a familiar face

Our second new recruit, Bernhard Eckhardt, is essentially an “old acquaintance”, as he has been working as a sales representative for CSS Belts since 2022. Prior to that, he worked as a language trainer and entrepreneur, completed two master’s degrees and then moved into international sales representation. “I was particularly influenced by working in international markets, direct contact with customers from a wide range of industries and languages, and the combination of technology, sales and intercultural communication,” reports Bernhard Eckhardt.

His day-to-day work involves planning international client trips, client meetings, new client acquisition, as well as technical consultancy and project coordination. In addition, Bernhard Eckhardt works closely with clients and the Märtens team to develop individual and practical solutions – both in the office and on the production floor. What he values most about his new job is the mix of technology, people, international contacts and the fact that no two days are the same. He spends most of his free time on sport – he has even taken part in a table football world championship – music, travel and, above all, languages. As well as German and English, he speaks several Eastern European languages, so he is ideally equipped for his new role with us!
