Transport of perfectly round products

Durable and suitable for a wide range of applications: all over the world, Märtens’ rod network belts ensure the safe transport of products of all shapes and sizes.

CoffeeB also uses wire mesh belts from Märtens in its production. The Swiss company manufactures so-called ‘Coffee Balls’ – small, 100 per cent compostable coffee pellets that serve as an alternative to aluminium or plastic capsules. The ground coffee is pressed into balls and then coated with a thin protective layer. But how do you prevent the balls from rolling off the belt? Märtens, of course, has a solution that is as simple as it is practical!

Rod network belt with points

Thanks to its open structure, our tried-and-tested rod network belt is ideal for coating processes. For CoffeeB, we also fitted the conveyor belt with points to guide the rows of products. The points in the conveyor belt ensure that nothing slips or rolls away.

Another advantage: points in every mesh can very easily reduce the contact surface, thereby minimising unwanted sticking. This ensures a uniform coating and a virtually identical appearance across all products.

Incidentally, this applies to coatings of all kinds, as this customer example with chocolate cakes demonstrates:
Optimisation of the coating process

Key features of our rod network belts:

  • Thin, flexible and lightweight belt construction
  • Forced-guide
  • Permeable and hygienic design
  • Small deflection radii
  • Stainless steel version compliant with EC Regulation 1935/2004, approved for food contact

In addition to points, our rod network belts can also be fitted with guide chains or carriers. And thanks to robust materials, such as our K2390, the highest standards of corrosion resistance are met, for example when used with alkalis, fruit acids or aggressive cleaning agents.
