Expanding conveyor systems from Märtens near Florbú

Biscuit production in Spain

The risk of unwanted product twins increases with enrobing systems in particular. To avoid sticking together, one of our customers relies on expanding conveyor systems from Märtens.

The family business Florbú was founded in 1948 in the Castile region, making it one of the oldest biscuit manufacturers in Spain. Today, Florbú employs more than 150 people and sells its products in over 50 countries worldwide. And of course, like many representatives from the food industry, the company relies on conveyor belt solutions from Märtens.

Expanding conveyor systems for biscuits

Florbú uses two of our variably adjustable expanding conveyor systems in its production process. One is used directly in front of the chocolate coating machine so that the distance between the individual biscuits is large enough for the coating process and they do not stick together due to the chocolate.

After a subsequent cooling process, the baked goods are brought closer together again so that the subsequent packaging process can be better realised. The two expanding conveyor systems have a working width of 1,000 to 1,300 mm, which can be variably adjusted.

Separating or joining with expanding conveyor systems

Expanding conveyor systems are used wherever products need to be brought together or separated and for pick & place applications. The number of product rows to be transported is not limited. Changing the row spacing is made possible by a special link chain in the side area: during transport, the conveyor belt is stretched at right angles to the running direction, resulting in an increase or decrease in the spacing.

Our separating belts made of a transversely elastic fabric with a silicone coating are, of course, the perfect addition to the expanding conveyor systems. The separating belt LW in turn manages with reduced force absorption. This makes belt installation considerably easier and also reduces downtime when changing belts.
