Almost exactly 9 years after starting at Märtens, Dietmar Hessel completed his last working day with us at the end of June before his well-deserved retirement. As Area Sales Manager, he was the first point of contact for our customers from eastern Germany over the past few years, who could always rely on his competent and swift support.
"I really enjoyed working at Märtens," says Dietmar Hessel looking back. "The company is like a big family and working with all my colleagues is very uncomplicated. We find many special solutions for our customers, which is a lot of fun and always very exciting. Over the years, mutual trust has grown and I have enjoyed being the point of contact for my customers."

Farewell and anticipation
In his new phase of life, Dietmar Hessel wants to spend a lot of time with his grandson, travel with his wife and go on several tours around Leipzig on his motorbike. And even though he is looking forward to retirement, it is not easy for him to say goodbye: "I felt very comfortable at Märtens right from the start. My dealings with colleagues were always characterised by decency, friendliness and helpfulness. I have never experienced this familiar tone at any other company."
Of course, Dietmar Hessel has already thought about his successor: "I wish my successor just as much pleasure in his work and working with customers as I have had!"
