TEAM MÄRTENS

Sunny prospects

This is how much energy our PV system supplied

We take responsibility and consistently focus on sustainability. The focus here is on mobility and energy consumption. To optimise the latter, we installed our own photovoltaic system in 2022, which produces a lot of renewable electricity.

Even if this year's summer seemed rainy and cold to some, there were still hours of sunshine - and plenty of them! Between August 2024 and August 2025, our PV system generated a total of 305 MWh of electricity. This means we cover the majority of our energy requirements at the Flensburg site with emission-free energy. This solar power production enabled us to emit around 120 tonnes less CO₂ compared to conventional power generation - a clear contribution to climate protection and the future of our planet.

Clean on the road: e-mobility at Märtens

Alongside the expansion of PV, we have also made our mobility more sustainable: 10 out of 20 company cars are now fully electric. At the Flensburg site, all company vehicles - apart from our assembly lorry - are charged with electricity. In addition, a total of 12 charging points for electric vehicles are available at our company headquarters on Lise-Meitner-Straße. These are not only used by our own fleet, but can also be used by employees, guests and the public.

Sustainable? Excellent!

It is important to us to consider sustainability in all its complexity. For us, this includes climate and resource protection, but also social behaviour and good business conduct. We therefore pursue a holistic ESG strategy, which stands for Environmental, Social and Governance. In March, Creditreform Flensburg presented us with the EcoZert award for this.
