A BLOG FROM Maertens
IN MOVEMENT

A successful start

Märten's first appearance at vocatium

This premiere was a complete success: In mid-May, Märtens took part for the first time in vocatium Flensburg, the trade fair for training and studies, and was pleased to receive a lot of positive feedback.

On two days, our company presented itself in the FLENS-ARENA near the campus to the public, which consisted primarily of students, but also teachers and parents, and met with lively interest.

"What does Märtens actually do?"

Our trade fair team was only too happy to answer this question. On site were Lara Sandt, HR Manager at Märtens, Arne Jensen from Marketing as well as Fynn-Niklas Leibel, who is currently completing an apprenticeship as an industrial mechanic at Märtens and will continue with us from October on the dual course of studies in industrial engineering. Hearing his practical experiences from everyday training was particularly exciting for many visitors to the stand.

It also surprised many students to hear that there is a market-leading company like Märtens in Flensburg and that we sell our products worldwide. This was impressively underlined by a plastic conveyor belt as a demonstration object, the waffle pattern of which looked familiar to many right away.

What moves career starters today

Frequently asked questions were not only about the job profiles themselves, but also about the general conditions in everyday working life. Here, Märtens was able to score as a modern employer with benefits such as flexible working hours and a 35-hour week. Also our familiar working atmosphere and the casual scope with each other found favor and could be experienced directly at the booth.

Many good conversations were held, so we expect to receive some applications for 2024 in the next few weeks. For those who made up their minds at short notice, we also took advantage of the offer of the last-minute wall at the trade fair to draw attention to our currently still vacant apprenticeship position as industrial mechanic (m/f/d) for the start of training next August. Here, too, we are optimistic that we will be able to fill this vacancy in the near future.

Lara Sandt is very satisfied with the results: "The job market is changing and we have set ourselves the goal of further strengthening the Märtens employer brand and making it even better known in order to be well positioned in terms of personnel in the future. This starts with the recruitment of young people, so that we are happy to be there again at the next vocatium due to the good experiences!"
