White and robust:

PU-X/1 in marzipan production

Christmas treat, my ass: Marzipan is always in season! But there are a few challenges to be met in the production of this noble confectionery.

As one of the world's leading suppliers of conveyor belts in the food industry, Märtens' product portfolio naturally includes the right solution for almost all foods, raw materials and production steps. A customer from Schleswig-Holstein in Germany, which is internationally known for its marzipan products, also trusts in quality from Märtens.

Our PU-M/1 plastic conveyor belt is used in many processes because it can be easily deflected even on very small knife edges without the PU coating cracking due to the aggressive almond oils. This is because our conveyor belts with PU coating are extremely resistant and yet extremely flexible.

For optical reasons, however, a white conveyor belt must be used in places. In this case, our customer opts for the PU-X/1, as it has the same good deflection properties and the same crack-resistant PU coating.

Top properties of our PU conveyor belts:

  • Resilient and durable
  • Flexible
  • Excellent deflection properties
  • Good flatness
  • Approved for food transport according to VO EG 1935/2004 resp. VO EU 10/2011

By the way: Again and again we receive questions on how transverse cracks in the PU coating can be avoided. You can find an overview of possible greens in this blog post:
