He studied mechanical engineering at Kiel UAS and industrial engineering at Wedel UAS. He then worked for a Hamburg-based manufacturer of industrial trucks for 12 years in various national and international functions in the areas of technology and sales as well as marketing manager. He then moved to the conveyor belt industry and served as managing director of Ammeraal Beltech GmbH before joining MÄRTENS.
Mr. Funke is married, father of four children and lives with his family in Flensburg.
